We had an awards ceremony at the race, but did you win an award but were unable to receive it during the race awards ceremony? It would be our honor if you’d join us at the next meeting of the Peachtree City Running Club so we can present you with your hard-earned award. The meeting will be held at the Dolce Atlanta-Peachtree Conference Center in Peachtree City on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 at 7:30pm.
About the Race
The Peachtree City Classic consists of four different races: Women’s 5K, Men’s 5K, 15K Open, and the NEW 20K (5K + 15K together!) . All races are on certified courses.
Races are run mostly on paved golf cart paths that will take you through the green belt areas, by lakes, through small tunnels, across bridges and on the scenic routes through the planned community of Peachtree City. The course was voted the Best Course by Georgia Athlete Magazine. For the past 34 years the Peachtree City Classic has offered a Men’s 5K, a Women’s 5K and a 15K race. “The Classic” is not only a quality race it is also a beautiful one, running through the woods, the greenbelts, the tunnels and on the cart paths of Peachtree City, GA. Nearly 80% of our participants each year are returning which speaks volumes about the quality of this race.
From Atlanta – take I-85 south to exit 61, Peachtree City. Turn left onto Hwy 74 and go 11 miles to the intersection of Hwy 74 & Hwy 54. Turn left onto Hwy 54, at third traffic light turn right onto Peachtree Parkway. Follow traffic control.
NEW 20K Race Option!
This year for the first time ever that participants will be able to compete in the new ” Peachtree City Classic 20K ” by running in both a 5K and the 15K and competing in awards for a combined 20K time. If you can complete one of the 5K’s in 30 minutes or less, you can then run the 15K and combine that time with the 5K race time. This is the first year of this new event so the number of participants will be limited to a 250 runner field. Do you have the stuff to compete in “three races” on the same day?
And since this is the first inaugural 20K event, finishers will receive a special commemorative “Classic 20K” medal in recognition of completing the first of many Classic 20K’s. You can’t do them all if you don’t do the first one!
Fitness 54 Corporate Challenge
This year the Classic will feature the 2014 Fitness 54 Corporate Challenge. This will be a “competition” to find the “Most Fit Companies” the “Most Fit Organizations” in Fayette County.

- 10:30 – 15K Awards Ceremony (time approximate)
- 10:45 – 20K Awards Ceremony (time approximate)
Age Groups and Awards
Overall awards to top 3 M/F in Open and Masters for all races.
Awards to the top 3 M/F in the following age groups: 10 & under (5K), 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and over.
There will also be Fitness 54 Corporate Challenge Team Awards.

All local runners must pick up their race packets on Friday night between 4:30 and 8:30 at the Frederick Brown Amphitheater.

A Race Day Expo will be held Friday from 4:30-8:30 pm and Saturday from 7:00-11:00 am in the parking lot of the Frederick Brown Amphitheater. The expo will include health and fitness products, sponsors, and selected vendors. If you are interested in participating, email email@example.com.
