About the Race

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2022

RACE RESULTS

The Peachtree City Classic consists of three different live races and two virtual race options: Women’s 5K, Men’s 5K, 15K Open, 5K Virtual, and 15K Virtual.  All live races are on certified courses. For the second year in a row, the 15K Open Race will be a RRCA Championship Event.

Races are run mostly on paved golf cart paths that will take you through the green belt areas, by lakes, through small tunnels, across bridges, and on the scenic routes through the planned community of Peachtree City. The course was voted the Best Course by Georgia Athlete Magazine.  Nearly 80% of our participants each year are returning runners which speaks volumes about the quality of this race.

Directions

From Atlanta – take I-85 south to exit 61, Peachtree City. Turn left onto Hwy 74 and go 11 miles to the intersection of Hwy 74 & Hwy 54. Turn left onto Hwy 54, at third traffic light turn right onto Peachtree Parkway. Follow traffic control.

FAQ

1.) Why did you add a virtual race?

  • It’s simple, we know that Covid is still a major concern for those at high-risk. In celebration of our 41th Anniversary, we wanted everyone to have the option of participating in our Classic!

2.) I’m a virtual participant, when will I get my t-shirt?

  • All virtual participants can stop by the EXPO on October 14th to see all the vendors and pick-up their packets. We will schedule two more packet pick-up dates after the event. An e-mail will be sent to those virtual participants.

PLEASE NOTE: NO VIRTUAL PACKET PICK-UP ALLOWED ON RACE DAY. In order to avoid confusion and maintain proper social distancing, we will be focusing only on live race participants on Race Day, Oct. 15th.

3.) I signed up for the virtual race and live out of state, can you mail my t-shirt?

  • Yes, but only for virtual race participants. We cannot mail shirts and medals to participants outside of the Continental U.S. Please note: we will only mail race shirts and purchased finisher medals. The Flash Lights will not be mailed. You can pick-up your flashlights at the Expo, Friday Oct. 14th or at our additional packet pick-up for virtual racers on Sunday and Monday following the race. Please stay tuned to your email for more information.

4.) What’s this about a medal?

  • Yes! We now have finisher medals. Our finisher medals will be given to all those who finish the live 5K and 15K races. (Virtual Participants will have the option to purchase a medal, if they wish. This option is only offered at registration.)

5.) Can I pick up my friends’ or another family member’s shirt?

  • Not a problem. Please bring a copy of the race participants ID and Email Confirmation at Packet Pick-up. If it’s a large group, please email us ahead of time so we can bundle your shirts together for a smooth delivery experience.

6.) I’m a part of a cross country team – Do you give any team/group discounts?

7.) Do I have to wear a mask?

  • We care about the safety of all our runners. Out of caution, we are asking all runners to wear masks at the starting line and to socially distance. After crossing the start line, you can remove your mask and race as normal. Please be sure to keep others safe by maintaining a safe distance from each other.

8.) I have a business and would like to participate at the EXPO.

  • If you are interested in participating, please email peachtreecityclassic@gmail.com We will send you all the details. Thank you in advance for your interest!

9.) Can I get a refund?

  • No refunds are permitted. Should the event be postponed or cancelled due to Covid, we will allow one (1) deferral to the next Classic race or allow participants to switch to the virtual race options.

10.) I have a business and I want to pay for my employees to run. How can I do that?

  • There is a separate category during the registration process for our Corporate Challenge. To get started, you will need to establish a Team Captain. From there, the team captain can designate how many employees to “gift registrations to” or “take a percentage off” each employee’s registration fee. And much, much more!
  • For more information, please contact Co-Race Director Shelly Collins at peachtreecityclassic@gmail.com She will be glad to walk you through the process.
