2015 All-American 5K

Join us for the 6th Annual ALL AMERICAN 5K on Saturday, May 23rd, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. The race starts and finishes at the Fredrick Brown Amphitheater and is sponsored by Peachtree City Running Club. The event benefits all of our veterans – American Legion Post 50.

Please join us in honoring All of our Veterans by running, walking, or being a Phantom Runner by donating $30 or more to the American Legion Post 50. All entrants receive a high tech shirt for their participation. All tee shirts must be picked up race morning by 8:00 a.m.

Awards go to overall M/F finishers and top three M/F in each age group. Packet pickup begins at 6:30 a.m.

Upcoming Club Events, April through June

Club Grand Prix – Saturday, April 4
Easter Run.  We start from the PTC Library Complex at 8 AM.
Club Meeting – Tuesday, April 7

It’s Spring Break and time to enjoy the great outdoors in Georgia. We meet at 7 PM on the outdoor patio at Partner’s Pizza on Hwy 54 for an abbreviated business meeting. (There will be no speaker this month.)  Optional Fun Run starts at 6 PM from the same location and goes rain or shine. The run is about 4 miles, and the course is available here: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5863096.  It’s a great opportunity to get some exercise, recharge with plenty of good tasting pasta, and relax with your running buddies!

Club Meeting – Monday, May 4
Our next club meeting is on May 4, 2015 at 7:30 PM at the Dolce Conference Center. Our speakers are Dr. Logan Hart and Dr. Dustin Walton of the Dynamic Spine Center. Hailing from High Point, NC, Dr. Hart received his Masters of Science and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees from Life University, and he received his undergraduate degree from N.C. State. Dr. Walton also received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University, and the South Georgia native received his undergraduate degree from Valdosta State University. Dr. Walton has over 1,500 hours in advanced training on Chiropractic BioPhysics and is the only local practitioner to be certified in BioPhysics. They will be speaking about the effects of poor posture and neuromechanics on running, and how chiropractic care can facilitate better running gait, stride, balance, and movement from a global point of view.

Annual Golf Tournament – Saturday, May 30

Where: Flat Creek Country Club When: May 30, 2015 at 2:00pm Format: 4 person scramble, best ball, team handicaps. Awards to top 2 teams, longest drive & closest to the pin. Who: All PTCRC members and their guests who want to have a day of FUN!!! Cost: Canongate members and  guests pay $35 for green fees. All players pay $15 entry fee to Dave Piet before tournament.

Summer Track Classic Series – Wednesday, June 3, 10, 17, 24, and July 1
Join us for this traditional favorite low-key, all-fun event at Riley Field adjacent to PTC Elementary School.  Registration starts at 6 PM with the first event at 6:30.
5th Annual Marathon Relay and Club Grand Prix - Saturday, June 6
Registration for the 5th Annual Peachtree City Marathon, presented by the Peachtree City Running Club and Tri-PTC, is now open! Teams of four will join together to run a marathon, with each member running a 10K. Best of all, the race is FREE to all participants. The 5th year will bring lots of changes—the race will take place at Shakerag Knoll (by the amphitheater) and we will have 4 new routes to run. We will offer post-race refreshments to all participants and spectators. Starting in 2015, the Peachtree City Marathon Relay is now a part of the Peachtree City Running Club Grand Prix. Members of the club will use the marathon relay to get their June points in the Grand Prix standings.
