Join us for our annual New Year’s Day Grand Prix.  Join us from 8:30 AM onwards at Lou and Martha Boone’s house at 108 Whitfield Run in PTC. Run/walk a specified course and predict the distance. No electronic devices allowed. Closest prediction to the actual distance wins!

Be sure to bring a breakfast dish to share at the brunch afterwards. The club will furnish coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice, and paper products.  Also, be sure to wear your best smile for the annual New Year’s Day club photo!
CLUB MEETING, MONDAY, JANUARY 2
We meet at 7:30 PM at a location to be determined.  Our guest speaker will be Connie Jones of the Peachtree Therapy Group.  She is a Life and Business Coach, a Professional Counselor, and an Exercise Physiologist.  She also does work in Sports Psychology and Sports Performance, and is a runner.  She will be speaking on the mental aspects of running. Our Treasurer will also present the budget for the year.  There will be a questions and answer period to resolve any issues.  We will vote to approve the budget at the February meeting.
ATC/PTCRC 8K/15K – SATURDAY, JANUARY 21
This is an annual event co-sponsored with our sister organization, the Atlanta Track Club (ATC).  The distances are changing this year from 5K/10K to 8K/15K, so we will need even more volunteers than usual to man the longer routes as course marshals and timers.

If you can help volunteer again this year, please send an email to George Martin at r2sun98@mindspring.com with a subject of “ATC 8K/15K Volunteer”. Please include:

1 – your name,

2 – phone number,

3 – email address,

4 – shirt size, (great long sleeve shirt) and

5 – any preferred job or area you want work in

If you are planning to run in the race you can still help Bill Werling with parking. We are expecting LOTS of cars to park so if you are volunteering OR running, you may want to arrive early.

CLUB GRAND PRIX / NEW MEMBERS BREAKFAST - SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4
If you are a new member who has joined the club within the last year, we are having a new member breakfast especially for YOU. Club members Ray and Teri Besch have graciously agreed to host the event at their home at 105 Parsons Place in Peachtree City. A link to the map is below. You can also call them at 770-487-9215 if you need directions.
You don’t need to bring anything except a healthy appetite. Club members will provide all the fixin’s. We’ll begin with a Grand Prix Run at 8 AM.  It will be a Run/jog/walk for time event.  You’ll be given an arbitrary time and try to come back as close as possible to that time.

We’ll then enjoy breakfast provided by club members. And you don’t even have to run if you don’t want to. You can just show up and have breakfast!! If you are not yet a member, but have been considering it, this is your chance to check us out up close and personal.

Either way, we hope you’ll join us. It’s a great way to get to know people in the club, trade training tips, and just have a good time. We hope to see you there!!

CLUB MEETING – MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6

We will vote on the budget for the year.  Please come prepared to ask any questions.
