CLUB MEETING – TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 5
We meet at 7:00 PM on the outdoor patio at Partner’s Pizza on Hwy 54 for an abbreviated business meeting followed by Guest Speaker Jeff Galloway (see details below).  Optional Fun Run starts at 6 PM from the same location and goes rain or shine. The run is about 4 miles around Lake Peachtree, and the course is available here: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5863096.  It’s a great opportunity to get some exercise, recharge with plenty of good-tasting pasta, and get re-acquainted with your running buddies!

CLUB GRAND PRIX – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 9

We start at 8 AM on the track at Riley Field. Everyone will start together without watches or other electronic devices, and run their own pace.   After each lap, draw a letter from a bag and reverse direction.  Everyone will then be stopped at a random time, and have to guess the total elapsed time. BONUS points –  Everyone will then be paired up (walker + runner) and the team that can create the longest word earns extra points!

WANTED – GOLF CART TRAILER
PTCRC is in need of a trailer to pull behind a golf cart on race morning of the Classic on 21 Oct to put signs and arrows along the race courses.  If you have such an item and are willing to loan it for a good cause for a few hours that morning, please contact the Race Director, Shelly Collins, at678-343-8026 or Justshellycollins@gmail.com
SNEAKERS4GOOD
Justin Collins is now collecting used running shoes and donating them to a good cause called SNEAKERS4GOOD!!  So bring your shoes that you are not using anymore to any club meeting, activity, or event and Justin will be glad to take them off your hands.  They are donated to those who can’t afford a pair or recycled if they are no longer road-worthy.  And the club gets a donation from the company.  So it’s a win-win situation!  Donated your shoes and raise money for the club at the same time!  Complete details are available at Home (sneakers4good.com)
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL GRAND PRIX SERIES 2023-2024
It’s back again for the 19th consecutive year!!  That’s right, most of the Elementary Schools in Fayette County will be hosting 5K runs throughout the 2023-2024 school year.  The more you participate, the more fun you have, and the better chance you have of winning or placing in your age group overall.  So come check it out if you haven’t yet done so.  Remember, you can’t do them all unless you do the first one coming up on September 16.
