Club History

Founded in 1981, our club has grown to be one of the largest running clubs in the Metro Atlanta area. With over 100 miles of cart paths in Peachtree City, you are bound to run into someone you know eventually (pun intended!). We have members from all walks of life, ages and abilities.

Monthly Meetings

The Peachtree City Running Club holds its monthly meetings on the first Monday of every month with the exception of July and December. Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. and are usually held at the Peachtree City Hotel and Conference Center (formerly known as the Wyndham Conference Center) usually in the amphitheater. Actual meeting place is usually announced via e-mail and posted on our web site.

PTC Classic

The Peachtree City Classic consists of three different races: Women’s 5K, Men’s 5K  and 15K Open. All races are on certified courses. The course was voted the Best Course by Georgia Athlete Magazine. Join us on 10/20/2018 for this year’s race.

Upcoming Events

We meet at 7:30 PM at the Peachtree City Hotel and Conference Center.  This is the “All Things Classic” meeting where we finalize any remaining race issues.

Volunteer Classic run.  This is a tradition started for all the Club members who sacrificed running in our own Peachtree City Classic so they could serve all the other participants as volunteers.  Come out and run either the 5K or 15K course against others in your age group.  20 points extra if you run in a Halloween costume!

The next club meeting is on Monday, November 5, at 7:30 PM at the Peachtree City Hotel and Conference Center (formerly the Wyndham).

Please come prepared to vote on your favorites for the following superlatives of the year:  Male and Female Rookie of the Year; Male and Female Most Improved Runner of the Year; and Volunteer of the Year.  These will be awarded at the annual Christmas Awards Banquet to be held on Thursday, December 13.

Membership renewal for 2018 is now underway.  Please renew online at http://ptcrc.com/how-to-join/

The next Grand Prix will be November 17th at 8am at the PTC library. We will be continuing our tradition of collecting food donations for the local food bank, Real Life Center. The Grand Prix will be worth ‘XX’ points per grocery sized bag of non-perishable foods, participation and club gear. After the donations have been collected the Club will continue on to the normal Saturday morning group run.

Real Life Center’s mission is all inclusive and focuses on not a “hand out” but a “hand up”.  The Peachtree City Running Club looks forward to continuing our relationship and support for Real Life and the lives it helps.

“The Real Life Center was established in 1998 and has become one of the most highly respected and recognized non-profits in the South Atlanta Metro area.

Our mission is to walk with those who are hurting in Fayette and Coweta counties by providing a safe environment, sharing the love of Christ, and promoting long-term change. This mission is accomplished through an innovative process of holistic care. This strategy includes caring for each person physically, emotionally, relationally, financially, mentally, and spiritually.

We offer a one-year program designed to help families get back on their feet and to encourage them to set goals that will help promote lasting change.”  reallifecenter.org

Due to Heritage Cross Country course being booked for the month of September, the PTCRC September Grand Prix will be moved to September 22 at 8 AM at the Ridge Nature Preserve in Fayetteville. Take a right off of highway 54 to the end of Burch Road when coming from Peachtree city.

The course will be from the Whitewater trail, to the Muscadine trail, to the Muscogee trail and back to the parking lot for about 3 miles. (Not the Run the Ridge 5K course, but a loop following the outer perimeter of the park).

The Southern Conservation Trust asks that we park down near the water (right hand turn, down the hill near start of Whitewater Trail) as there is another event taking place that morning up top around the main parking area.

Please make sure you leave no trace of your visit. Take advantage of the trash cans provided at each nature area.

For more information, please contact Mark Hamilton.
