Club History

Founded in 1981, our club has grown to be one of the largest running clubs in the Metro Atlanta area. With over 100 miles of cart paths in Peachtree City, you are bound to run into someone you know eventually (pun intended!). We have members from all walks of life, ages and abilities.

Monthly Meetings

The Peachtree City Running Club holds its monthly meetings on the first Monday of every month with the exception of July and December. Meetings begin at 7:30 p.m. and are currently held at Line Creek Brewery at 150 Huddleston Rd in PTC.  Actual meeting place is usually announced via e-mail and posted on our web site.

PTC Classic

The Peachtree City Classic consists of two different races: 5K and 15K Open. All races are on certified courses. The course was voted the Best Course by Georgia Athlete Magazine. Plan on 10/18/2025 for the race.

MONTHLY RUN SOCIAL – SATURDAY, 15 FEBRUARY
 
WHEN: Saturday, February 15 @ 8:00a.m.
WHERE: Drake Field
WHAT: Find your Valentine for the next MRS! It will be a partner challenge with no watches.
Two courses with the same start line but different finish lines. Each team of two tries to finish their run with the closest elapsed time. Each runner’s team elapsed time will then be sorted within the runner’s gender division. Choose your partner ahead of time or we’ll match you with one that morning. The courses will be approximately 2.5 miles with a map and details provided that morning. A runner may choose to turn around and head back sooner if needed depending on their anticipated time.

SAVE THE DATE!! MONTHLY RUN SOCIAL AND NEW MEMBER’S BREAKFAST – SATURDAY, 15 MARCH
 
If you are a new member who has joined the club within the last year, we are having a New Member Breakfast, especially for YOU. Club member Teri Besch has graciously agreed to host the event at her home again at 105 Parsons Place in Peachtree City. A link to the map is below. You can also call her at 770-487-9215 if you need directions.
You don’t need to bring anything except a healthy appetite. Club members will provide all the fixin’s. We’ll begin with a Monthly Run Social at 8 AM.  Everyone will be given an arbitrary time to walk or run at their own pace (or even go take a nap!!)  and then return as close to the time given as possible.  The closest to the actual time wins.  Speed is irrelevant.  A sense of pace and timing is critical.  Of course, no watches or other electronic devices are allowed.

We’ll then enjoy breakfast provided by club members. And you don’t even have to run if you don’t want to. You can just show up and have breakfast!! If you are not yet a member but have been considering it, this is your chance to check us out up close and personal.

Either way, we hope you’ll join us. It’s a great way to get to know people in the club, trade training tips, and just have a good time. We hope to see you there!!

CLUB MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL SEASON IS OPEN!!

2024 memberships expired as of 31 Dec.  If you have renewed, I thank you.  If you have not, consider yourself on PROBATION!!

You only have a 90-day grace period to renew.  Membership renewal for 2025 is underway.  You can renew online at https://ptcrc.com/join-the-club/

If you are a new member or current member who signed up or renewed since 1 August last year, you are good to go through 2025!!

MONTHLY RUN SOCIAL / MILES FOR MIDWEST FOOD BANK 5K – SATURDAY, 10 MAY

Join us for the fifth annual Miles for Midwest 5K Run benefiting Midwest Food Bank Georgia Division!!  The 5K course will begin at the Midwest Food Bank Facility in Peachtree City, Georgia and take you on a scenic run along the cart paths.  Pre-registration is open until May 7th at 8 PM.  Pre-registration is $35 for adults, $30 for children under 18. ($5 discount will be taken off of registrations for those who are under 18 at checkout).  In-person registration available the morning of the run at $40 for adults and $35 for children under 18.  Club members receive a $5 discount by using the code PTCRUNCLUB.

Registration table opens at 7:00 AM on the day of the run.  The run begins at 8 AM.  Our unique race offers family-friendly post-race activities such as an inflatable and delicious frozen treats! Take your time and tour our facility to learn how you can be involved at Midwest Food Bank to serve our local community.

Remember that all proceeds from the race go directly toward our mission to alleviate hunger and malnutrition.  Every $1.00 donated allows us to share $30.00 worth of food with our local community! 

*No strollers, wheelchairs, bikes, or dogs will be allowed on the run due to liability issues.  

**T-shirts can only be guaranteed to runners who register by April 10th, 2025.
