About the Race

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2023

RACE RESULTS

The Peachtree City Classic is changing things up this year! For the first time in its history, we will be combining the Men’s and Women’s 5K courses. The Classic will now consist of only two different live races: the 5K and 15K Open. Both races are on certified courses. And, for the third year in a row, the 15K Open will be an RRCA State Championship Event.

Both races are run mostly on paved golf cart paths that will take you through the green belt areas, by lakes, through small tunnels, across bridges, and on the scenic routes through the planned community of Peachtree City. The course was voted the Best Course by Georgia Athlete Magazine. Nearly 80% of our participants each year are returning runners which speaks volumes about the quality of this race.

Directions

From Atlanta – take I-85 south to exit 61, Peachtree City. Turn left onto Hwy 74 and go 11 miles to the intersection of Hwy 74 & Hwy 54. Turn left onto Hwy 54, at third traffic light turn right onto Peachtree Parkway. Follow traffic control.

Corporate Challenge

This year the Classic will feature the 2023 Corporate Challenge. This will be a “competition” to find the “Most Fit Companies” and the “Most Fit Organizations” in Fayette County.

FAQ

1.) Why no Virtual Option?

  • Due to the popularity of our live races and our limited volunteer availability, The Classic will no longer be offering a virtual option.

Virtual Races became extremely popular during the 2020 Pandemic. When all other races were cancelled, The PTC Classic was able to carry on using the virtual race option. We are so grateful for all who participated in our previous virtual races and apologize for any inconvenience.

2.) I live out of state, can you mail my t-shirt?

  • No, we no longer offer a virtual race option. We cannot mail race packets to participants. You must come to the Expo to pick up your race packet.

3.) What’s this about a medal?

  • Yes! We now have finisher medals. Our finisher medals will be given to all those who finish the live 5K and 15K races. (Virtual Participants will have the option to purchase a medal, if they wish. This option is only offered at registration.)

4.) Can I pick up my friends’ or another family member’s shirt?

  • Not a problem. Please bring a copy of the race participants ID and Email Confirmation at Packet Pick-up. If it’s a large group, please email us ahead of time so we can bundle your shirts together for a smooth delivery experience.

5.) I’m a part of a cross country team – Do you give any team/group discounts?

6.) Do I have to wear a mask?

  • Participants are welcome to wear a mask. However, masks are NOT required.

7.) I have a business and would like to participate at the EXPO.

  • If you are interested in participating, please email peachtreecityclassic@gmail.com We will send you all the details. Thank you in advance for your interest!

8.) Can I get a refund?

  • No refunds are permitted. Should the event be postponed or cancelled due to Covid, we will allow one (1) deferral to the next Classic race or allow participants to switch to the virtual race options.

9.) I have a business and I want to pay for my employees to run. How can I do that?

  • There is a separate category during the registration process for our Corporate Challenge. To get started, you will need to establish a Team Captain. From there, the team captain can designate how many employees to “gift registrations to” or “take a percentage off” each employee’s registration fee. And much, much more!
  • For more information, please contact Co-Race Director Shelly Collins at peachtreecityclassic@gmail.com . She will be glad to walk you through the process.
