29 Jan 2022 PTCRC HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE GINA BOLEN
Gina Bolen has been a member of the club since 1996. She became very active starting in 2005, when she actively volunteered at club events, and trained for many races with fellow club members. She has run over 55 Marathons and many of those were Boston Qualifiers and/or Boston Marathons themselves. Although she has never served as a board member, Gina has been a constant presence and a powerful recruiter for the club, bringing in new members and helping each year with the Classic.
After a tough Classic showing in 2018, Gina teamed up with Marino Fuentes and joined the PTC Classic Committee. She used her popularity and network of running friends to help advertise and market our beloved race. She single-handedly recruited Shelly Collins and other runners to the club. She refused to give up on her home-town race, and with additional volunteer help, we had a great 2019 Race. She was awarded Volunteer of the Year for the work she did in ensuring a successful Classic Race that year.
When the pandemic hit, she coordinated the Club’s first ever Virtual Classic Race. She advertised, registered virtual racers, and shipped shirts out to all virtual participants.
Gina continued to help on the Classic Committee in 2021, where she coordinated the marketing, entertainment (food trucks), and handled race day registration. Gina has a heart for service, and it is because of faithful members like her, our club is as successful as it is.
Accordingly, in appreciation of her dedicated service to the club and by unanimous acclamation of the Hall of Fame Nominating Committee, Gina Bolen is hereby inducted into the Peachtree City Running Club 2022 Hall of Fame.
