2022 PTCRC HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE KIM RUPLE (Posthumous)

2022 PTCRC HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE KIM RUPLE (Posthumous)

Kim Ruple was the first solo female President of the Club and served for three years during the period 2013-2015.  During her tenure, she headed up the crew that measured the standard 10K course and installed the markers that still exist today.  There are markers at the start, every intersection, every mile, the 5K point, and the finish.  This task took months to complete and is still paying benefits today.  The course is used by countless residents and visitors and is included in the new map of cart paths in Peachtree City. Kim sadly passed away of ovarian cancer in November 2018 after a valiant and courageous three-year battle.

She was an ardent recruiter for the club, even signing up numerous family members including her own 75-year-old mother who lived in Mississippi.

Kim also headed up the initiative to register Peachtree City as an official RRCA Runner Friendly Community.  This required a rigorous documentation effort showing that the community is working with public and private organizations to support running, letters of support from a mix of public leaders and private business owners, and that the community had the infrastructure to foster physical activity in a safe environment.

Kim kept up the mundane but critical task of keeping the club scrapbook updated for ten years during the period 2009-2018.  These books document the history of the club throughout the years and serve as a source of enjoyment and reminisce for members of the Club.

Kim was also an accomplished athlete, having completed over 60 marathons and ultramarathons.  She was fully committed to reaching the goal of 50 marathons in 50 states, but sadly, passed away with her heart still on the course and her journey incomplete.

Accordingly, in appreciation of her dedicated service to the club and by unanimous acclamation of the Hall of Fame Nominating Committee, Kim Ruple is hereby inducted into the Peachtree City Running Club 2022 Hall of Fame.
