We will, of course, be guided by local, regional, and national health authorities, but at the current time, trends for the COVID-19 epidemic appear to be headed in the right direction. Should there be the need for another postponement, all registrations will have the option to switch to virtual or roll over to the next Classic road race.
We are also very happy to announce that the first 1400 people who register for any of the live Classic’s three races (Men’s 5K, Women’s 5Kor the Open 15K) will receive a “Might D Light”, retail value of $15.99, as well as the commemorative race shirt and, for the first time, a Classic medal for all participants in the live races.
We value the safety of all our runners. For that reason, we are adding the option to run virtually. There will be a virtual 5K or 15K option. All participants in the virtual races will receive a commemorative race shirt. Medals will be available for purchase on the registration site.
Welcome back to all runners, walkers, and to all of the thousands of past participants of the past 40 years!! This will truly be a Classic to remember.
SAVE THE DATE!! SATURDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2021!
The Peachtree City Classic consists of three different live races and two virtual race options: Women’s 5K, Men’s 5K, 15K Open, 5K Virtual, and 15K Virtual. All live races are on certified courses.
Races are run mostly on paved golf cart paths that will take you through the green belt areas, by lakes, through small tunnels, across bridges, and on the scenic routes through the planned community of Peachtree City. The course was voted the Best Course by Georgia Athlete Magazine. Nearly 80% of our participants each year are returning runners which speaks volumes about the quality of this race.
From Atlanta – take I-85 south to exit 61, Peachtree City. Turn left onto Hwy 74 and go 11 miles to the intersection of Hwy 74 & Hwy 54. Turn left onto Hwy 54, at third traffic light turn right onto Peachtree Parkway. Follow traffic control.
This year the Classic will feature the 2021 Corporate Challenge. This will be a “competition” to find the “Most Fit Companies” and the “Most Fit Organizations” in Fayette County.
Overall awards will be determined by GUN TIME. Age group awards and official time will be based on CHIP TIME.
